LegalRoots may disclose personal information without consent if the disclosure is related to:
- Provision of legal services;
- Litigation, settlement, and other legal proceedings, including disclosure to process servers and certified translators;
- Paralegal or LegalRoots’ obligations; or
- Collections of our outstanding paralegal fees.
Subject to a requirement by law or an order of an adjudicator, LegalRoots has an obligation to disclose personal information no matter if our clients have consented. The scope of the disclosure is only subject to the requirement or the order.
Disclosure with consent
LegalRoots may disclose certain personal information based on the written consent of our clients. Clients shall contact us and send us the written consent specifying the scope of the disclosure and the receiver of the personal information. Clients may withdraw their consent at any time before we disclose personal information.
Security of personal information
LegalRoots utilizes online storage and billing managed by third service providers to restore personal information offsite. We may also store physical files that contain personal information in our office. Where personal information is stored electronically, we use a password protection system and standard firewall software to secure personal information. In addition, we ensure that our service providers do not have access to the data stored in the online servers. Where we store physical files, we manage access to the files by keeping them in a locked cabinet.
